Historical Sketch
1866- Thomas Marr was born on October 20th. 1869- became Deaf due to scarlet fever. 1884- completed his high school education 1889- graduated from Gallaudet College with Bachelor of Science degree 1892- took some architecture course at Massachusetts Institute of Technology 1897- finally owned an office with 10 dollars per month for rent. 1904- hired a kid named Joseph Holman, 13-year-old boy, as an errand boy. 1910- admitted to partnership with Joseph Holman 1923- hired Richard S. Reynolds as Civil engineer 1924- erected 8 different buildings on Tennessee School for the Deaf and Dumb campus. 1928- hired James L. Howard as structural engineer. 1936- Marr died on March 2 with cause of paralysis stroke, Holman took over the Firm 1952- Holman passed away, the firm was reorganized and Reynolds took over until his retirement in 1970.
